On a misty September morning, DAN BULL (34) , one of the team of seven full-time gardeners at Powis Castle , Welshpool, Wales is hard at work cutting the huge 55 foot yew tree hedges.
Every year the massive topiary hedges, which are about 400 years old, have to be trimmed and tidied, with the gardeners working for ten weeks standing on tall mechanical ‘cherry picker’ elevated platforms high above the formal gardens of the National Trust property on the Welsh borders.
