Gwyn Emberton at Aberystwyth Arts Centre rehearsing for Shadow of a Quiet Society
"The lives and stories of a people from an unnamed small town, over a thousand years, are explored through Jung’s theories on archetypes and reveals what happens when a community is pitted against itself and the individual. The cast of six women, including the internationally renowned dancer Eddie Ladd, search to understand their collective history, and the desire to mark out a name for themselves, as they seek answers to the questions we should all be asking…
Can love win at war, is community better than the individual, will politics ever be able to control theatre, are religious rites just another form of expressing one’s freedom and does 'Alice really come from the palace’?"
Shadow of a Quiet Society is a co-production with Aberystwyth Arts Centre created with the support of Arts Council Wales, Arts Council England and Coreo Cymru
