Clare Hunter,  community artist, textile maker and author of Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle , a chronicle of identity, protest, memory, power and politics told through the stories of the men and women, over centuries and across continents, who have used the language of sewing to make their voices heard, even in the most desperate of circumstances.  Appearing at the  32nd annual Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts.<br />

The festival, held every year in the small town of Hay on Wye on the Wales - England border,  attracts the finest writers, politicians and intellectuals from  across the globe for 10 days of talks and discussions, celebrating the best of the written word and critical debate<br />
